Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial

Hey everyone! Believe it or not but I FINALLY have my tutorial ready! *Phew* I did these nails last week but I'm finally ready to post it because it just took me FOREVER to edit and just prepare this post. Mooohahaha! So without any further ado, take a took below and see if you're interested in learning how to make strawberry nails. :) *WARNING: This is a COMPLETE tutorial!* I do have the mini tutorial but I've gotten some complaints that they're too hard. (Read the captions please, don't ONLY look at the pictures :p) But anyway, hopefully this tutorial will be extremely helpful for those beginner nail artists! Hehe.. This is as close as I can get to "Video Tutorials" at the moment. I just don't have the time for those. :(

These nails are super duper easy. ;) All you need is red, green, and yellow nail polish, tape, scissors, and a toothpick/mechanical pencil to draw the lines. :) But let's get started guys!!

Since we are going to be making strawberries, we HAVE to have red polish. ;) I used Dutch Tulips by OPI (2 coats). Isn't this just one of the most gorgeous reds?

{White Background -- Sorry guys..} Let's get started with this strawberry nail tutorial! First, start off with some red nails and let them dry COMPLETELY. (We are going to use tape and it's crucial that our nails are completely dry!)

Now grab a piece of tape! I just used plain, old Scotch tape. :)
Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial
Just a regular sized piece of tape ladies! ;)
Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial
Now place your tape on a flat surface.
Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial
Just like this! Grab a pencil or pen because you're going to need to draw something on that tape!
Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial
So go ahead a draw a random zig-zag pattern on the tape. This will be our strawberry top. :) Pull out the scissors now and cut it out!
Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial
Your tape should look like this now. ;) I only use the small part but don't throw away the bottom part of the tape! You can use that too. :)
Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial
Place the tape on your nail like-so. Make sure to flatten out the tape so that there are no bubble underneath otherwise polish could go under!

Now just the top of your nail with green polish. Notice how we taped off the other parts? I am using Wild Thing by Pure Ice.

Remove tape and TAAAA DAAAA! A naked strawberry. XD Let's add those seeds!
Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial
I am going to use Almost Famous by Color Club for the seeds. So this is how I draw everything on my nail. Place some polish on a scrap piece of paper. Look in the top right hand corner; I've already used this paper on the other side. It's just lined paper that serves no purpose beside being my color holder for nail art. ;)

Grab that mechanical pencil or a toothpick to make our lines!

Dip your pencil/toothpick in the polish and...

Draw some thin lines on the naked strawberry for seeds. ;) I practiced on my scrap paper first... XD

Continue making those lines!

AND BAM. You are done! Add a topcoat and repeat with the rest of your nails or whatnot. (Bahaha, this seems like a long process but I swear, this is really easy and you get super cute nails!)
Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial
Okay, so here is how all of my nails turned out in the end! I have an obsession with outlining things in black soooo yeah. :/ That's the only thing I added! But even if you leave your nails without the black outlining, your strawberries are going to be adorable. ;)

Lol... and mini tutorial just for kicks. ;) Errr.. I mean Instagram! xD

OKAY, that was a super long post but hey! Some people say what I do is too hard. Hmm.. I tried my best to explain so here you go! Hope it worked out! Let me go take break from editing and writing now.. Zzzzz.. Until.. next time.. Your Polish Pal, Jen....na... Zzzzz. ;)

  3. I would have never thought a tape helped you nailed that, had you not share the procedure. I know there are tons of crafty things you can do with tapes, but I totally didn’t see the nail art coming. Haha! Thanks for sharing!
